BALLARAT : DEAD CITY

Saturday, December 25th of 2010

Today is (as you know) CHRISTMAS DAY!! For Christian people who celebrate it I’m sorry, because I’m not allowed to say “Merry Christ…” to you guys. I don’t celebrate Christmas because I’m a Muslims ;). Instead of it, my family and I (except for my mum) went to Ballarat. We took V-line to go there, and lucky we didn’t have to pay for the ticket because it was FREE (because of Christmas I guess ahihi). We left Melbourne at 12.07 am and arrived around 1.15 am. It was my first time went there since I moved to Melbourne, and I was REALLY shocked because it looks like a DEAD CITY!! Only a few people were on the roads. I don’t know whether it was because of Christmas Day or Ballarat doesn’t have many people live in it. I didn’t see many houses there, and there are lots of old buildings, one of them is University of Ballarat. Once we got there, we walked to Sovereign Hill (we had to walk coz there was no bus coz it’s Christmas day). It was sooooo far way!! We walked for like an hour to get there, but lucky the weather wasn’t very hot that’s why we didn’t die hehe, we were still tired anyway. The Sovereign Hill was closed when we arrived!!! Oh man.. we walked from station to there for an hour, and it was closed!!! Well yeah we had to be patient. After sitting down and taking a rest, we walked back to station by different way. We stopped in the middle of the way to wait for a bus. We waited for 15 minutes but the bus hasn’t turned up yet, so we continue walking. After 10 minutes Alhamdulillah we arrived at the station, but we had to wait for 45 minutes to wait for the train that would bring us back to Melbourne. No problem for me, but I was so HUNGRY!! I bought some chips then hehe.. ohhh what a day! So fun! :D
